Thank you for participating in the Persona beta test. Here are a few things every tester needs to know:
Please be sure to make redundant (manual) backups of any data you are using in Persona.
Mac OS X version 10.7.4 (Lion) or Mac OS X version 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
The brainchild of Mariner Software’s resident staff, and squarely aimed at the character development space, Persona aids you in crafting archetypal themed characters and plots by using time-honored psychological principles to describe the motivations and interactions between different characterizations of people. Whether your story’s hero is a brainiac talking fish or your villainess is an outcast orphanage owner, Persona helps you explore how each character’s unique psychology and background influences their dealings and dialogue.
The character arc within a story is generally seen as a fulfillment of what a character needs to make them whole privately, personally, and professionally. Persona delves into your character’s private and personal goals by defining what events in their life might have made them the way they are which in turn helps predict their behavior in your story. Good for ensemble casts, episodic material, feature length film, stage, or radio, Persona deals with the characters not the format in which the story is conveyed. With Persona you will:
• Create the cast for your story
• Explore the relationships and interactions between each of the characters
• Categorize each character into one of 32 archetypes and 64 styles
• Create smart groups of characters based on attributes like tags, type, sex, or any word or phrase from your notes
• Create ad hoc groups of characters without a defined relationship to explore their interactions
• See the relationships between archetypes, like if your hero corrupted and became a villain

Create mode: Added the ability to undisclose (and disclose) blocks of text in the help text.
Added a command to the Persona menu to check for updates manually.
Resolved an issue where creating a new character would result in the new character displaying information under the Connections heading that was relevant to the previously-selected character.
Resolved an issue where (under OS X 10.7 and 10.8) the File menu would display multiple iterations of the same commands.
Resolved an issue where, if a group was renamed, characters would be unassigned from the renamed group.
Resolved an issue where, after a number of relaunches, panes (such as the source pane and the Create Mode Help pane) would resize automatically.
The abillity to undisclose (and disclose) blocks of text in the Create Mode Help text is currently only available for all blocks under OS X 10.8. Under previous releases of OS X, only the Description block can be disclosed or undisclosed.
The plus and minus symbols that appear in blocks of text in the Create Mode Help text (to indicate that block disclosure can be modified) are only visible under OS X 10.8.
Data created in Persona 1.0 b1 cannot be opened in Persona 1.0 b2. Although we did our best to attempt make it possible to use b1 data in b2, migrating previous data will unfortunately not be an option with this update. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
To work around this, we are suggesting that users do the following:
Launch Persona 1.0 b1 and 1.0 b2 side-by-side.
In Persona 1.0 b1, load the existing project.
In Persona 1.0 b2, create a new project.
Paste copied data into the appropriate fields in 1.0 b2.
If you need to download Persona 1.0 b1 again, you can download it here.
This process should also work with images pasted to the Image field.
Data can also be migrated by printing character information to PDF, copying data from the PDF, and pasting it into Persona 1.0 b2.
Added a preference to select a sort method (Alphabetical or by Type) for the Archetypes selector in Create Mode.
Added new fields to Create mode:
In Create Mode, added a field under the Other section, to specify character background.
Added a Gender selctor (with selections Male, Female, and Other) to the Physical section in Create Mode.
Added a command to the Edit menu (Coose Character Image) to add an image (to the character Image field, in Create mode) from file.
Addressed some issues in the help text content for the Standard Bearer.
Resolved an issue where smart collections that displayed characters assigned specific archetypes failed to return valid results.
In create Mode, changed the way that archetype types (Heroines, Villains, etc). are lablled in the Archetype selector.
