Version 2.0 b6 is now available, please read on ….
Thank you for participating in the Paperless for Windows 2.0 beta test. Here are a few things every tester needs to know:
• During the course of beta testing, you are responsible for safeguarding your own data. You should retain all originals of documents you scan or otherwise enter into Paperless during beta testing, and we recommend that until you are comfortable that we have ironed out all data-related issues in Paperless that you test strictly with test data.
• System requirements:
- Windows Vista or Windows 7. Professional editions required for library encryption support
- US English system using US Dollar currency formatting
- Lastest version of Adobe Reader
If using a scanner with Paperless:
- Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner (recommended) or TWAIN scanner
- latest version of driver software for your scanner
• Please enter all bug reports directly into the bug reporting database (instructions for doing so are below). Make sure to register in our bug tracking system with your real name and email address. At the end of beta testing, we will run a report directly out of the bug tracking system and testers who submit 10 or more significant and unique bug/feedback reports directly into the bug tracking database during the course of the beta test will be eligible for a free Paperless for Windows 2.0 serial number.
• We have setup a community forum for discussions and questions about Paperless for Windows. You can find it here. Do not use the forum for reporting bugs.
• Paperless for Windows can open libraries created with Paperless for Mac OS and vice versa. Please note, however, that libraries are not designed to be shared between the two platforms. Paperless – for Windows or Mac OS – is not a client-server solution where a “served” set of data can be accessed by both Mac OS and Windows “clients”. Paperless – for Windows or Mac OS – is designed for accessing data stored locally on a single machine, and does not support storing Paperless libraries on a remote volume.
• Paperless for Windows serial numbers are not yet available. During beta testing, please run Paperless in Trial mode (click the Not Yet button when prompted on launch).
• To get an updated version history and list of what’s new in each beta release of Paperlress, please refer to the bottom of this page.
• Information pertaining to beta releases will be posted on this web page. Please bookmark it, and refer back to it during the beta testing cycle. New beta releases will be announced here and on the forum,
• Please add all follow up comments to bug reports directly into the notes section of the bug report in Mantis. This helps us share information and feedback amongst our development team and saves us from having to copy and paste feedback from email messages. Thanks!
